Heads up: Your break (Week 4) overlaps with Easter (April 5). Easter travelers boost crowds to 10/10. Consider Express Pass or strategic timing. Wednesday/Thursday are your best days — data shows Mon/Sat are actually the worst.
Your break (Week 2) overlaps with Dallas + Ontario — 8/10 crowds. Heavy but not the absolute worst. If you have passes, consider Week 1 or skip to Week 6-7.
Ontario March Break (Week 2) is 8/10 — heavy but not peak. The real crush is Easter (Week 4). Fly down Week 1 if flexibility allows.
Should you drop the extra cash? Here's our verdict based on crowd levels.
* Applies to Universal Orlando Parks (Universal Express). Disney line-skip pricing varies by date.
Universal's own Express Pass pricing matches our crowd predictions. Easter week (Week 4) hits the absolute highest price tier — that's your tell it's the real peak. Week 2 is also elevated. Week 1 and Week 7 sit in lower tiers. They're seeing the same data we are.
| Week | Dates | Crowd | Express Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mar 9–13 | 5/10 | No — strategy beats payment |
| 2 | Mar 16–20 | 8/10 | Strong Yes — heavy crowds, strategy alone may not cut it |
| 3 | Mar 23–27 | 8/10 | Optional — consider if you only have 1 day |
| 4 | Mar 30–Apr 5 | 10/10 | BUY IT — Easter is THE peak. No shortcuts. |
| 5 | Apr 6–10 | 7/10 | Maybe — Thu+ timing helps, but crowds linger early week |
| 6 | Apr 13–17 | 5/10 | No |
| 7 | Apr 20–24 | 3/10 | No — lightest week of spring break |
Easter week (Mar 30–Apr 5) is THE peak — 10/10 crowds. Week 2 (Mar 16–20) and Week 3 (Mar 23–27) tie at 8/10 with overlapping school breaks. If you can choose dates, Week 7 (Apr 20–24) is the lightest at 3/10. Best day of the week varies by park: Wednesday & Sunday are best for Epic Universe, while Wed/Thu are best for IOA, USF, and SeaWorld.
Most of the time, strategy beats payment — but Easter week (Week 4) is the exception: BUY IT. Week 2 is a strong yes too. If you only have one park day, Express can also make the trip feel "doable."
Two windows consistently outperform the rest: rope drop (the first 60–90 minutes after opening — avg 24–26 min waits) and the last 2 hours before close (avg 26–31 min waits). Peak hours (11 AM–4 PM) average 37–39 minutes — best spent on indoor rides, shows, and food.
Right now, live tracking + drop alerts are built for Universal Orlando parks and SeaWorld Orlando. This crowd calendar is still useful for Disney trip timing.
