⚠️ Pantheon: The Wild Card
Pantheon is a world-class multi-launch coaster and would be the undisputed #1 priority at Busch Gardens
when it's operating. The problem: it has a history of significant downtime and unreliable operations. It's not in our
historical wait time dataset because of this inconsistency.
The rule is simple: If Pantheon is running when you arrive, drop everything and ride it immediately.
Don't wait, don't "come back later." Its status can change at any moment. But don't build your entire day around it
. Follow the DarKoaster-first strategy below, and treat Pantheon as a bonus when it appears.
Pro tip: Use the Ride Ready app to get real-time Pantheon status alerts. If it opens mid-day, you'll
know before the crowd does.
📊 Best Day to Visit
Average Park-Wide Wait by Day of Week
Honestly: The gap is moderate. Just 7 minutes separates best from worst.
Wednesday and Thursday are your best bets at 16 min average. Saturday is the only real outlier at 23 min.
Any weekday is a solid choice.
Based on 67,789 samples across 955 park days (Jul 2022 – Apr 2026). Day-of-week patterns can shift during peak seasons.
🗺️ Optimal Ride Order
Two strategies depending on whether Germany (Oktoberfest/Rhinefeld) is open at rope drop.
Both are optimized to minimize total wait time across the park's major rides.
If Germany Is Open at Rope Drop
10:00 AM · Rope drop
DarKoaster. 14 min avg at 10 AM. That's 41 min saved vs the 1 PM crowd (55 min). The single biggest morning advantage in the park.
10:20 AM
Verbolten. Same section of the park. 7 min at 10 AM, climbs to 27 min by 4 PM.
10:50 AM
Pantheon (if running). Cross to Festa Italia. If Pantheon is down, skip to Apollo's Chariot.
11:15 AM
Apollo's Chariot. 11 min at 11 AM, peaks at 19 min by 3 PM. Easy ride any time, but mornings are walk-on territory.
11:45 AM
Griffon. 14 min at 11 AM, peaks at 23 min by 4 PM. Manageable all day, but best before noon.
Midday
Alpengeist + InvadR + Tempesto. All averaging 15-17 min. Slot them between meals and shows. None get painful.
Evening
Re-ride Griffon and Alpengeist. Both settle to manageable waits by 8-9 PM. Griffon: 18 min at 8 PM. Alpengeist: 16 min at 8 PM.
If Germany Is Delayed
Check before you walk: Oktoberfest/Rhinefeld sections may open late, especially on seasonal operating days. Don't waste your rope drop walking to a closed gate. Check the app or ask a team member at the entrance.
10:00 AM · Rope drop
Pantheon (if running). Your top priority whenever it's operational.
10:20 AM
Apollo's Chariot. 6 min at 10 AM. Near walk-on at rope drop.
10:40 AM
Griffon. 7 min at 10 AM. Quick ride before the crowd builds.
11:00 AM
Alpengeist. 10 min at 11 AM. Knock out the France/Italy coasters while Germany warms up.
When Germany opens
DarKoaster → Verbolten. Head straight to Germany the moment it opens. DarKoaster is still your top priority. Even mid-morning it'll be shorter than the afternoon peak.
Rest of day
InvadR + Tempesto + Tier 3 rides. Fill in the rest at your pace. Everything outside DarKoaster is manageable.
⚡ The 5 Golden Rules
1
DarKoaster first thing. 14 min at 10 AM vs 55 min by 1 PM. The biggest morning advantage in the park. Nothing else comes close.
2
Check Germany section timing. Oktoberfest/Rhinefeld may open late. Don't waste your rope drop walking to a closed gate. Check the app or ask at the entrance.
3
Visit Wednesday or Thursday. 16 min park-wide avg vs 23 min on Saturday. The gap is moderate, but any weekday is solid.
4
Pantheon is a wild card. When it's running, drop everything and ride it. It's world-class but unreliable. Don't build your day around it.
5
Evening is for Griffon and Alpengeist. Both peak at 3-4 PM then settle to manageable waits by 8-9 PM. Re-rides are easy late in the day.
🌙 Evening Drop Windows
Average waits at 5 PM vs 9 PM across 955 park days. Evening drops are consistent across the dataset.
5 PM
9 PM
0 min
20 min
40 min
60 min
The play: DarKoaster and InvadR have the biggest evening drops (35% and 41%).
If you missed DarKoaster at rope drop, 9 PM is your second-best window at 32 min. Still well below the 55 min afternoon peak.
Griffon and Apollo's Chariot are already so short that timing barely matters.
⏰ Hourly Wait Patterns

How to read this: Red cells (40+ min) are danger zones. That's exclusively DarKoaster territory from noon onward.
Green cells (under 20 min) are your windows. Notice how Apollo's Chariot and InvadR never leave the green zone, while DarKoaster
is red from noon to 7 PM.
🌈 DarKoaster: The One Ride That Needs a Plan
DarKoaster is in a league of its own at Busch Gardens. At 44 min average, it's more than double the park-wide average
of 19 min. It's the only ride where timing genuinely matters.
14 min
at 10 AM
55 min
peak (1-3 PM)
32 min
at 9 PM
That 10 AM window is everything. At 14 min, DarKoaster is a quick ride at rope drop. By 11 AM it's already at 35 min.
By 1 PM it peaks at 55 min and stays there through 4 PM. The indoor straddle coaster has limited capacity, which means
the line builds fast and stays built.
Bottom line: Ride DarKoaster at rope drop or after 8 PM. The midday window (noon to 6 PM) is consistently
40-55 min. There's no shortcut. You either time it or you wait.

Where does Pantheon fit? When operating, Pantheon would slot into Tier 1 as the #1 priority ride.
It's not in the historical data due to its unreliable schedule, but when it's running, it's the best coaster in the park.
