These regional patterns repeat year to year -- useful context for planning spring 2027.
Week 4 overlap with Easter (April 5) pushed crowds to 10/10. It's the worst week every year -- Express Pass or very strategic timing is the only way through. Wednesday and Thursday consistently outperform Monday and Saturday by a wide margin.
Week 2 overlapping with Dallas + Ontario is a reliable pattern -- expect 8/10 crowds any year Florida break falls that slot. Week 6-7 is always the better call if pass holders have flexibility.
Ontario March Break landing in Week 2 is consistent -- 8/10 crowds, heavy but not peak. Easter (Week 4) is always the real crush. Week 1 is consistently underrated if you can swing early March.
Was Express worth it? Here's the verdict by week -- holds for any future spring break too.
* Applies to Universal Orlando Parks (Universal Express). Disney line-skip pricing varies by date.
Universal's own Express Pass pricing matches our crowd predictions. Easter week (Week 4) hits the absolute highest price tier β that's your tell it's the real peak. Week 2 is also elevated. Week 1 and Week 7 sit in lower tiers. They're seeing the same data we are.
| Week | Dates | Crowd | Express Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mar 9β13 | 5/10 | No β strategy beats payment |
| 2 | Mar 16β20 | 8/10 | Strong Yes β heavy crowds, strategy alone may not cut it |
| 3 | Mar 23β27 | 8/10 | Optional β consider if you only have 1 day |
| 4 | Mar 30βApr 5 | 10/10 | BUY IT β Easter is THE peak. No shortcuts. |
| 5 | Apr 6β10 | 7/10 | Maybe β Thu+ timing helps, but crowds linger early week |
| 6 | Apr 13β17 | 5/10 | No |
| 7 | Apr 20β24 | 3/10 | No β lightest week of spring break |
Easter week is always THE peak -- 10/10 crowds in 2026 (Mar 30βApr 5), and that holds for any year Easter falls in late March/early April. The two weeks leading up to Easter (FL residents, Dallas, Ontario overlap) consistently hit 8-9/10. If you can choose dates, the last week of spring break (Boston-only crowd) is always the lightest. Best day of the week: Wednesday and Sunday for Epic Universe, Wed/Thu for IOA, USF, and SeaWorld.
Most of the time, strategy beats payment β but Easter week (Week 4) is the exception: BUY IT. Week 2 is a strong yes too. If you only have one park day, Express can also make the trip feel "doable."
Two windows consistently outperform the rest: rope drop (the first 60β90 minutes after opening β avg 24β26 min waits) and the last 2 hours before close (avg 26β31 min waits). Peak hours (11 AMβ4 PM) average 37β39 minutes β best spent on indoor rides, shows, and food.
Right now, live tracking + drop alerts are built for Universal Orlando parks and SeaWorld Orlando. This crowd calendar is still useful for Disney trip timing.
